Yesterday I received this lovely framed certificate, and a check! (Or cheque, as my friends to the north would write…)

There were so many beautiful paintings, I’m honored to have been chosen. Thank you so much to Peter Trippi, editor of Fine Art Connoisseur Magazine, and to Legacy Gallery for hosting such a wonderful show.

First, I have a painting in the Scottsdale Salon of Fine Art – the second annual competition held at The Legacy Gallery in (duh) Scottsdale, AZ.

A show curated by  Jim Thalassoudis at Peter Walker Fine Art in Adelaide, South Australia, titled “More Real Than Real – Realism from the USA and Canada” has two of my Barbie paintings.

And last but not least, I have 4 pieces in a small works invitational show titled “Jewels” at the Jewish Cultural Center, right here in Chattaboogie, TN. Opening reception is March 29 at 5:30 pm.

I’m seriously tired.

Camilla and her husband Jim run the gallery in addition to their framing business next door – The Artistic Framer. Jim is also a fantastic photographer.

Osterville, MA is an interesting place – it is a village of Barnstable, and used to be called Oysterville, but due to a misspelling, became Osterville. When I heard that, I knew I just had to paint some oysters. I’m really digging them – they’re such a contrast between crusty outer shell, pearlescent inside, and creamy oyster flesh. I also have a rockin seafood market just at the base of the mountain, and they have been great in supplying me with and helping me open them – I don’t really wish to lose any fingers for the sake of my art!

Camilla and Jim are terrific folks, and I’m so happy to be working with them.
